President’s Message

A message from 2025 ICC President Brian Baird, Johnson County Commissioner

Welcome to the Indiana County Commissioners (ICC). It is an honor and a tremendous privilege to serve as the 2025 President. As I have elevated through the ranks of the Executive Board, I have had the honor of working with many amazing, dedicated, and committed members of the ICC Board. I have learned much and have found many mentors who are willing to share much valued information and experience, which has been a true blessing.

I have gained many valuable friends and am humbled by their care and concern for our fellow Commissioners and Associates. This ICC team works as a family to sustain and carry this organization forward in our purpose of educating, supporting, and advocating for fellow Commissioners. You are the strength and stability of this organization.

As we empower county commissioners and the ICC not only in our local communities but throughout the state and at the Statehouse, you have my commitment to do all that I can to help us be the best we can be. My theme for this year is “Listen: Success Through Communication & Collaboration.” We can only accomplish the goals in front of us by listening, communicating, and collaborating with all of our members, our fellow elected officials, our state officials, and the public.

We have a very busy and impactful year ahead of us as we deal with a long Budget Session and we will be working with the General Assembly to make our desires and needs known. Important issues like home rule, road funding, public health, and local revenue sources will be discussed, debated, and decided. With all of us engaging with our local legislators and advocating for our communities, we can be efficient, effective, and successful. But it will take all of us.

I ask that you please help the ICC to strengthen our local communities. We can accomplish this by listening, communicating, and collaborating, and always “Doing the Right Thing” in all that we do.
