Commissioner Mark Heirbrandt received the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) Outstanding County Commissioner of 2023 award!

Commissioner Heirbrandt took office as a Hamilton County Commissioner for District 3 in 2013. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated a deep-rooted commitment to making a positive difference at the local level by collaborating with county commissioners across Indiana to create and implement strategic initiatives as the current ICC Board President.

Commissioner Heirbrandt has served in numerous capacities over the years, including his efforts on the ICC Board of Directors, the AIC Board of Directors, the Executive Committee for his Metropolitan Planning Organization, U.S. Senator Mike Braun’s Transportation Advisory Committee and the National Association of Counties (NACO) Transportation Committee.

At ICC, Commissioner Heirbrandt has championed legislative engagement to increase awareness of the Association throughout the state by testifying and leading conversations with commissioners and legislators. He also played an integral role in ICC’s brand refreshment, including the creation of a new logo, website design and social media strategy.
