General Achievement Awards Criteria

The following information must be submitted and is criteria for all of the Awards to be presented:

  • Length of service in this position
  • Any Participation in State or National Associations such as ICC (Commissioners), AIC (Indiana County Officials) IACHES (Highway), Auditors Association, NACO (National Assn of County Officials), etc.
  • Any participation in educational offerings such as district meetings, conferences, Road School, affiliate meetings, etc.

Criteria for Specific Achievement Awards

  • (in addition to above)

Distinguished County Commissioner Award

  • How has the nominee consistently engaged in distinguished and exceptional service resulting in significant, positive impact to their county?
  • What Boards, Commissions, and Committees do they currently or have previously served on?

Legislative Service Award

  • In what ways, has the nominee advocated for County issues to the State Legislature including any contacts with state legislators and legislative committees? 
  • If the nominee testified before a committee, please list the issues to which they testified.

Outstanding Team Effort for a Board of Commissioners

  • Describe a project that this Board of Commissioners has undertaken despite possible controversy.
  • How did this Board of Commissioners accomplish this common cause?
  • Was there cooperation, if needed, with other local governments/officials to accomplish this goal?

Outstanding Highway Supervisor or Engineer of the Year

  • Describe a particular situation or project that makes this nominee "outstanding".
  • Describe the nominee's leadership, style of management, and educational background.
  • Explain this nominee’s ability to carry out projects and plans including interaction with the public.

Outstanding Auditor or Executive Assistant of the Year

  • How has the nominee worked with the commissioners on a project?
  • Describe the leadership, management, and team concept of the nominee.
  • What strengths has the nominee utilized to assist their commissioners?
